Pediatric Cardiology

Our cardiology team is for diagnosis, management and treatment of a wide range of children’s heart conditions, including:

  • Heart murmur
  • Arrhythmias
  • Chest Pain
  • Palpitations
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Congenital Heart Disease
  • Kawasaki Disease
  • Syncope (fainting)
  • Other forms of heart disease that affect fetuses, neonates, children and/or young adults

The scope of our practise will include consultation and assessment of children (newborn to 17 years old) with suspected heart disease, including performance and interpretation of diagnostic tests like ECG and Echocardiograms.

Echocardiography is a non-invasive ultrasound study commonly used to evaluate heart structure and function. Pediatric Echocardiography uses echocardiograms — a non-invasive test that uses sound waves to create a moving picture of the heart — to evaluate and diagnose many different pediatric heart conditions.
